In 2014, Oak Ridge Presbyterian church celebrated 20 years of worship and service in Northwest Guilford County.
On December 4, 1994, with around one hundred members, the church was officially chartered by Salem Presbytery as Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church. In August 1997, there was a ground breaking for the building we occupy today, and the building was dedicated on July 26, 1998.
ORPC has strived to serve the community by establishing scout troops (cub scouts, boy scouts, girl scouts), providing safe space for AA meetings, serving at Urban Ministry preparing meals for the homeless and collecting food from our local grocery stores, walking in the local CROP walk and working on Habitat for Humanity house projects. Our adults and youth are actively engaged in mission attending trips in the US and Mexico each year.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, … let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith.” Hebrews 12:1-2
As we looked forward to the future, Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church is committed to deepening our Christian discipleship in the areas of worship, mission, ministry with children and youth and adult spiritual growth.
