what to expect on Sunday

Visiting a new church for the first time can be exciting but often times it is also intimidating, so we are here to help you prepare for your visit. We hope that you will feel like you are right at home from the moment you are greeted at the front doors. It is our prayer that whoever you are, that you will have a positive and enjoyable experience with us this Sunday.

  • Parking

Visitor parking is located in front of the Sanctuary close to the doors, but feel free to park anywhere you would like!

  • Attire

God is interested in what is on the inside, not your outside, and neither are we! Come as you are and wear what makes sense to you. We are sure that whatever you wear, you will fit right in!

  • What to expect

We want you to feel welcome at Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church whether you come to worship in person or worship online. We value hospitality, so we want you to feel welcome.

We use chairs in our sanctuary and play a wide variety of music from traditional hymns, gospel, praise songs and bluegrass.  Each week you may hear something different- our chancel choir, small ensembles, bell choir, children’s choir, and guest musicians.

  • Services

We worship at 10am on Sunday mornings in the sanctuary with a blended service. Worship grounds all we do at ORPC.   We have a nursery for infants through children five years old, but your children are welcome to worship with you. We welcome their joyful noises! You will also find family tables in worship where parents and children can sit with activities during the service.

We are part of the Presbyterian Church USA.  Not all of us grew up in the church.  Some of us came from other denominations, some grew Presbyterian and some of us are new to faith. We believe God calls us all to follow Jesus.  Faith is hard.  We believe we need each other as we follow Jesus Christ.
